First of all, the Detroit auto show is moving to June in 2020
Yep, you read that correctly. This is the final year to attend the auto show in January. Beginning in 2020, the North American International Auto Show will take place in June.
Slated for a June 8 start date, the 2020 auto show will feature indoor and outdoor exhibits such as ride and drive experiences, autonomous driving demonstrations, and off-road challenges.
Not only does this move to June allow automotive brands to create more dynamic showcases for their vehicles, attendees can easily move between the show and Detroit’s restaurants and landmarks. With satellite locations throughout Detroit, visitors can explore displays at landmarks such as Hart Plaza, Grand Circus Park, Woodward Avenue, Campus Martius Park, and the Detroit RiverWalk.
“Detroit now has the opportunity to showcase our riverfront and our revitalized downtown during our beautiful summer months and creatively use the exterior of Cobo to launch new products that will transform Detroit into an exciting auto-centric environment,” said Larry Alexander, president and CEO of the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau, in a NAIAS press release.
