Since launching the Epicurean Traveler Blog earlier this year, I have taken 15 trips. Some were vacations abroad. Others were day trips in my home state, Michigan. All of them were documented on Instagram.

So, I’ve compiled my top 15 Instagram posts of 2015. Of my 15 most-liked photos on Instagram, four were latergrams and only two were taken with my Canon Rebel DSLR camera. The rest of the photos, like the majority of my Instagram posts, were captured with my iPhone 5S and shared as I was traveling. I strive to share tidbits from the road, and I hope we can connect to share our adventures in 2016!

3. Greektown Decorated For Christmas

Detroit’s Greektown is decked in blue and white decorations for the holiday season. ?❄️??❄️? If you are visiting Greektown, these are my recommendations: ? Park for free at the Greektown Casino-Hotel garage. ? Stay at the modern and luxurious Greektown Casino-Hotel. ♠️ If you gamble, try your luck at a Blackjack table. ? Dine on Pastitsio, Saganaki, fried artichoke hearts with scordalia, and Spanakopita at Pegasus Taverna. ? Save room for dessert though! Head to Astoria Pastry Shop for baklava, an éclair, or macarons. ? Try a Kremnut, a tasty cross between a doughnut and a croissant, at Krema. ?In warmer months, sip cocktails on the Level Two rooftop. ⛸ Walk down Monroe to Campus Martius Park to ice skate near the city’s most well-known Christmas tree. ? #TheEpicureanTraveler #Detroit #Greektown #VisitDetroit #DepictTheD #Michigan #PureMichigan #travel #travellocal #travelgram #instatravel #travelblogger #midwesttravel #midwestmoment #MichiganBlogger #midwestbloggers #midwest #tlpicks #howiholiday

7. Pisaq Incan Ruins In Peru

The Quechua people must have been very fit. I climbed to the top of these Incan ruins in the Sacred Valley, and it was a killer workout. For my lungs, at least. The struggle was worth it to feel satisfied I made it to the top to see this incredible view. My @contiki guide, Joel, showed us where the guinea pigs were kept. It is true what you have heard about Peru. People did and still do eat guinea pig (Cuy) as a delicacy here in the Andes. In fact, many ancient traditions still exist. The people still make offerings to Pachamama (Mother Earth) in addition to the Catholic rituals introduced by the Spanish. #TheEpicureanTraveler #Contiki #IncaPanorama #Peru #VisitPeru #IncaRuins #ruins #Pisac #TravelBlogger #travel #travelgram #traveldeeper #tlpicks #instatravel #instapassport #AndesMountains
